Certek Group Invests for Growth: ADSL Acquires ADACT Medical Assets and Strengthens Group Leadership with Appointment of Chief Scientific Officer

Certek is delighted to announce a significant investment in our Life & Materials Sciences division, marking a new chapter of growth, capability, and scientific excellence across the group.

We are pleased to confirm that our cosmetics testing business, Advanced Development and Safety Laboratories (ADSL), has acquired the assets of ADACT Medical. ADACT brings more than 20 years of industry leadership and a best-in-class, UKAS-accredited UK laboratory specialising in analytical testing and regulatory compliance for food supplements, CBD, herbal products, vaping and more.

This acquisition is a natural and strategic fit; ADSL is already the UK’s leading development, testing and regulatory laboratory for cosmetic and personal care products, trusted by household names and start-ups alike. By bringing ADACT’s expertise and capabilities into the fold, ADSL will significantly expand its service offering into food and nutritional supplements, opening new markets and giving clients access to an even broader range of testing and compliance services, all under one roof.

Alongside this investment in capability, we are also investing in our leadership. We are delighted to announce that Mark Bowes-Cavanagh, CEO of ADSL, will take up the newly created role of Chief Scientific Officer at Certek Group, while continuing in his role as CEO of ADSL.

In this dual capacity, Mark will contribute his more than 25 years of life sciences TIC experience to help drive scientific excellence, innovation and quality across the wider group, ensuring that our standards and expertise remain the benchmark in each market we serve. Mark’s appointment reflects our commitment to operational excellence and providing strong support to life sciences companies joining Certek.
